Spring Play Production

West Salem High School is putting on a spring play. The performance they have chosen is Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling. The head director is Rhonda Andres. Auditions have already been held. This production is recommended for ages 13 and up due to some adult content. The crew practices every day after school until 5:30. Some of the cast includes Syd Martin, Reagan Roesler, Molly Roberts, Angelina Lu, Aly Cvikota, Lacy Harper, Arin Miller, and Nik Hanson. The stage crew is Haley Chandler, Maddie Carlaw, Max William, and Jon Iliff. “This play has definitely felt different than others, since we have a very small cast, but it has given us all the opportunity to connect and get to know each other. I am very excited to perform, as I always am, but I’m also pretty sad this time. Aside from the summer musical, this will be one of my last theater productions at WSHS. I hope we make it one of the best,” said senior Arin Miller.

The performance will be put on at the Marie W. Heider Center for the Arts on Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th at 7:00pm. General admission costs $5 at the door.

Steel Magnolias is a drama/comedy that was a popular movie based off of a true story that West Salem Performing Arts is showing as a play. It is about a group of southern women that rally together during the good and bad moments. It is recommended that everyone, over the age of 13 in the West Salem community, attend this great performance.
