Senior Sam Stenberg was chosen as the Homecoming King to represent his class during homecoming. Stenberg said he enjoyed his last Homecoming, especially the parade. “It was really cool in the parade, hanging out with Zoey for a little bit because I hadn’t seen her in a while,” said Stenberg. “And it was cool to hang out with her on the float and talking up there and seeing the whole town kind of come together for homecoming.”
Stenberg didn’t find out that he was Homecoming King until right before Homecoming. Stenberg said, “I had no clue my parents found out earlier in the week, but they didn’t tell me as they should have. And so they just kind of, so it was a big surprise, I guess on Friday night.”
When asked, the rest of the Homecoming Court agreed that Stenberg deserved to have the title. While Stenberg noted that there were no specific responsibilities, he loved the idea of being one of the faces of West Salem, saying “West Salem High School is just a great place that’s just really special.”
