This team of students work hard all year to plan and organize meetings and school-wide events. To be considered for a position on this team, these candidates had to give a speech about why they would be a great addition to the Student Council Officer team. Next, the council members voted for who they thought would be best fit for these positions.

To begin, the new Public Relations Managers are incoming seniors Megan Lassig and Emma Deal. The job of the PR team is to promote student council on their various social media platforms. On these accounts, they post about upcoming meetings, events, and the member of the month. “I’m excited to be a PR officer because it gives me the opportunity to connect with both students and staff which is pretty neat,” said Deal. “I also want to bridge the gap between the student body and student council so that more students have their voices heard at student council.”

Next, incoming senior Hanna Kohlmeier was chosen as the treasurer. In this position, Kohlmeier will manage Student Council’s budget and make purchasing decisions.

The position of Secretary was awarded to incoming junior Madeline Noelke. As Secretary, Noelke is in-charge of taking attendance and notes at every meeting and keeping the club organized.

Next, incoming senior Taylor Feyen was chosen as the Vice President. As Vice President, Feyen’s job is to assist the President and help with major events that the club plans. “I am excited to be VP and work with next years officer team to make an impact on student life here at the high school.”

Finally, the 2019-2020 Student Council Presidents are seniors Katie Maliszewski and Julia Stoleson. As presidents, Maliszewski and Stoleson will lead the meetings, organize events, and make important decisions about the club. “I’m so excited to lead an organization that makes an impact on our school,” said Stoleson. “Student Council is a group of dedicated and enthusiastic students with endless ideas, and I can’t wait to be a bigger part of that.”

Joining the officers at these meetings to report the information explained at school board meeting will be Senior School Board Representatives Summer Houck and Liam Sjoquist.  Student council meetings will resume next school year, every other Wednesday in the upstairs conference room.
