1. Apple Pie
A classic dessert at Thanksgiving and throughout the year, there is no other choice for the number one pie of all time. Made almost entirely with just peeled and sliced apples and a crust, apple pie is the favorite of many Americans.
2. Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie takes second on the list as another prevalent choice during Thanksgiving time. Being another very simple pie to make it is often enjoyed with whipped cream on top.
This extremely popular pie is essentially a fancier version of a generic chocolate pie. It is made with chocolate mousse rather than chocolate pudding and it is always topped with whipped cream. Many are also decorated with chocolate crumbles on top of the whipped cream.
4. Pecan Pie
Pecan pie is definitely among the rich and filling pies with a thick syrupy filling beneath a layer of pecans. It can be difficult to make but nonetheless is popular with many people and is another classic during Thanksgiving.
5. Cherry Pie
Rounding out the top five is none other than cherry pie. A staple throughout much of the midwest cherry pie is very simple to make with the most difficult part often being the time it takes to pit all of the cherries, if it is being made by hand that is. Cherry pie is also popular for its slightly tart taste due to the addition of lemon juice in many people’s pies.
