Football Preparing for GET

Reese Walters, Staff Writer

The West Salem Panthers Football team played Altoona, and beat them with a score of 55-12. Coach Jehn said, “there was a good team effort, they had big plays on offense and defense and it was a total team win.” Their next game is at GET on Friday, September 23. GET has improved a lot since last year, they are 3-0 and they’re a big rival,  GET almost set a record for rushing plays and they are excited for a good competition. Coach Jehn says, “they can improve by working on how to compete play after play and when you play a team they are sometimes not the challenge you thought they were.” Even though they had many players out with injuries they have 3 players coming back, some battling illness, and the rest doing a good job maintaining their hydration and nutrition to stay healthy. Having players come back is boosting the team’s energy and power to push through the rest of the season.
