The Panther Portfolio paper is one of the biggest stress for most seniors during the fall semester. “The fall is always the most difficult time of year because some people are 10 steps ahead and others are 10 steps behind,” says Mr. Nelson.
The most recent deadline on October 23rd was 50 notecards for their sources. After having the working bibliography and thesis statement due just a week prior, many students are scrambling to complete the 50 note cards. “I told myself I was going to finish at least 30 notecards before the weekend, but of course I procrastinated until the last minute,” says senior Sophie Clements.
Mr. Nelson and Mrs. Volden provide the students with a large spreadsheet of all the upcoming assignments and deadlines. Many find that extremely helpful since the Senior Seminar class only meets every other day. “I think Senior Seminar is an important class for my Panther Portfolio. I wish it wasn’t every other day because I like the work time the class provides,” says Senior Signe Roesler. The next deadline is Monday, October 30th for the outline submission. It’s finally time to put all the research to use.
