Each member of the West Salem High School Forensics team advanced out of subdistrict competition, held at Aquinas Monday, February 12th, to the district level competition to be held at UW-La Crosse on Saturday, March 10th.

In order to advance to district level competition, performers must earn a score of 16 out of 25 in at least 2 of their 3 rounds of competition. At districts, performers will need at least 2 twenties to advance to the state level competition in April.

West Salem had competitors in a wide range of categories. Senior Kassandra Morrison competed in Farrago. Freshman Grace Brigson competed in Four-Minute Speech. Sophomores Lexi Giblin, Marissa Harris, and Chloe Ipsen competed in Group Interpretation. Sophomores Julia Stoleson, Jillian Wakefield, Maggie Cronk, and Katie Maliszewski also competed in Group Interpretation. Sophomore Alyssa Szewczyk competed in Poetry. Junior Jordan McArthur competed in Prose, as did Sophomore Megan Lassig. Freshman Sam McConaghy competed in Solo Humorous Acting. Junior Mackenzie Blackdeer competed in Special Occasion.
