Spring Sports Kick Off Their Seasons


After coming off their very successful winter sports season, West Salem High School is ready for spring sports. They kicked off the year with a spring sport meeting on Monday, February 28th. Now each sport is on to their individual practice.  Go Panthers! 

Softball started off their season Monday, March 14th with practicing 3 mornings and 4 afternoon practices. Now they were supposed to have 2 games the week of the 21st, but they were canceled due to weather.  Baseball is also off to a quick week starting with morning practices starting on Monday, March 21st. Their first game is Thursday, March 31st at home against Tomah. 

Soccer kicked off their season Monday, March 21st  6am practices and afternoon practices everyday. Their first game will be on April 1st against Edgewood at home. 

Track has been practicing for 3 weeks already starting Monday, March 7th and they had 2 indoor meets. They ran Tuesday March, 22nd at UW-Platteville, and Saturday, March 26 at UW- LaCrosse. It was different for the team because it was inside which led to it being a 200m track, and it was very crowded. 

Tennis is starting next week, and golf is had a short meeting on Wednesday, March 23.
