Review: Sparta’s House of Shadows

This building, located in Sparta, Wisconsin, is the House Of Shadows were members of the Boys and Girls Club volunteer to help spook anyone who will take the risk of walking through. The building was originally an orphanage in 1938. The haunted house is held every weekend starting from October 11th until November 2nd.

The “not-so-scary” haunted house is from 6-7 p.m and costs $6. It is family-friendly. The “very scary” version is $10 from roughly 7 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. “I liked the costumes and makeup, that was really well done,” said West Salem High School freshman Amalia Hemker who visited the “very scary” version. “No one broke out of character, even when they had to tell you to go the other way. They did get pretty close to us for not being able to touch us, and in some rooms, it was really hard to see and we had no clue where to go. [It was] one of the best haunted houses I’ve been to though.”
