The new and improved version of the senior exit project is now called the Panther Portfolio. Despite the name change, many seniors are scrambling to meet the upcoming deadlines just as they have in previous years.
The most recent assignment was submitting a resume, cover letter, and evidence of passing the civics test. Others are still working on plan proposals and the “About Me” page which were due in September. “I like that Mr. Nelson gives us the big spreadsheet of all the dates that we have deadlines,” says senior Signe Roesler. “It’s very helpful when working ahead.”
Recently, Mr. Nelson and Mrs. Volden started to introduce the paper to the senior class. The options for the paper are now more diverse including four different types of papers, only 6-8 pages long (down from 8-10), and more freedom on paper topic options.
The next deadline is October 9th for the rough draft of the thesis statement and a working bibliography. “The fall is all about getting people caught up and on track, and I think most are on track to meet those deadlines,” says Mr. Nelson.
