On Tuesday, October 4th the boys soccer team played the Logan Rangers. While the JV team won 3-1.
Varsity started off with good possession and passing. They put up a good fight in the first half ending with 0-0. The second half was a challenge, with the Rangers getting more shots on goal. “We are well skilled, but need time to play together,” says Head Coach Tom Fell.
Our goal keeper, freshman Jackson Quackenbush, started off as the backup goalie for the Varsity. Quackenbush kept working hard at practice and soon became the starting goalie.
The Panthers struggled to keep the ball on Logan’s side of the field. “All players are giving their best effort to win. The learning curve is looking better everyday,” says Fell.
West Salem lost possession and the Rangers scored 2 goals making the game end 2-0 for Logan with the win.
The next soccer game will be October 12th in Onalaska at 7pm. Playoffs start October 17th.
