The West Salem High School art gallery is changing, as there is someone new taking the reigns. West Salem High School art teacher, Mr. Brown, is now the head of this long standing art gallery. He is looking forward to this opportunity and the great artwork ahead. “My goal is to promote new artists, and display a variety of work,” says Brown.
As the new director, he wants people who don’t always get the chance to display their hard work in the gallery to have that opportunity. The first half of the year, the gallery will be displaying community art. Starting in January, student work, selected by art teachers, will then be featured. There will be many opportunities to see a variety of artwork in the new year including, the Regional Youth art month show in January and February, throughout Youth art month (K-12) in March, and the Senior Art show in April. “I am excited to take on this role and see all the kids’ work come alive,” says Brown.
