Breakfast of Champions is an opportunity for a teacher from each department to recognize one exceptional student. These students are often role models for their classmates and exhibit qualities of hard work, kindness, and integrity.
One student nominated was Sophomore Brisha Briseno by science teacher Mr. Servais. “Brisha is currently taking Sophomore Biology with me. She is what I would define as a model Student of the Month. She is always on time, listens, interacts, completes her work, and most of all, she helps those around her. She is a student that you can always expect a positive attitude from when coming into class,” says Servais.
Social studies teacher Ms. Hodgson chose Junior Gideon Wolbrink. “Gideon is in my UW-Oshkosh Psychology class. He has constantly been excelling in class and gives his best effort in everything he does. He contributes to class discussions and his opinion is always valued. He is kind to classmates and always has a smile in class each day. He is a great role model and an absolute joy to have in class,” says Hodgson.
This month, 12 students were selected in total: Junior Carter Quackenbush, Junior Madisen Skrede, Senior Taylor Burch, Junior Derek Freit, Senior Hailey Gerke, Senior Elliott Sjoquist, Freshman Samantha MacRogers, Sophomore Brisha Briseno, Junior Gideon Wolbrink, Junior Gavin Brothen, Senior Eve Froiseth, and Junior Ray Gander.
The next Breakfast of Champions will be held in February.
