Same Place, New Face
Introducing Kathryn Yaeggi
Kathryn Yaeggi is a new social studies teacher at West Salem High School. She has been teaching for five years at Chippewa Falls High School and Reedsburg High School. She chose to come to West Salem because she graduated from college at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and really loved the area.
She talks about how much she loves the West Salem community and wants to be a part of it. Yaeggi loves to be outdoors. In her free time, she loves hiking and taking walks outside. She also has a love for reading and sports. She talks about how she enjoys playing pickleball and golfing as well as watching sports like baseball and football.
She talks about how much she loves the West Salem students. She says that the students have been very well-behaved and welcoming to her. “The students are very great, I have been very impressed by their willingness to learn and their energy,” Yaeggi says. “Almost all of the students have an activity they do outside of school every day.”
Her future plans are uncertain; she says they mainly depend on her husband. He is a college football coach for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and has aspirations to coach for bigger schools. However, as of right now, they are pleased in the La Crosse area, because it feels like home to them.
