With the sudden snowfall, and production of snow with the cold weather going on, Mt. LaCrosse is opening Friday December 5th for the first time in 2025. We asked some West Salem High School students some questions about this new event.
Jackson Sebreg ’28
Sebreg likes to ski, and he goes to Mt. LaCrosse about 12 times a year, and he will be going opening day. His favorite hill is Spotlight, which is a straight, steep drop, which can break off into the hill White House, and he likes to go skiing with his friend Jack Storandt.
Amelia Karr ’28
Karr snowboards, she doesn’t ski. She goes to Mt. LaCrosse about 8 times a year, and she will probably not going opening day. Like Sebreg, Spotlight is also her favorite hill. And she likes to go with her friends because it makes the experience more enjoyable.
Kayden Dettmering ’28
Dettmering stated that he skis, and goes to Mt. LaCrosse about 15 times a year, or every weekend, and that he will be going opening day. His favorite hill is Thundernation which is a long trail that breaks into five different ones, and can also continue into a terrean park. He likes to go snowboarding with his friend Noah Sigersma because he stated, “Going with my friend makes me feel like I’m doing my favorite thing, with my favorite people.”
