On Monday, April 15, 2024, Superindtendent Ryan Rieber announced that Justin Jehn would replace Mike Malott, the outgoing principal during a meeting. Jehn, who has been a part of West Salem High School throughout his entire career will be leaving his position as assistant principal to take over the new position. He was selected from 15 other applicants for the job. “Mr. Jehn will be doing an outstanding job,” says Mr. Malott, the current principal, “I have no concerns whatsoever. He’s obviously been my right-hand person for the last seven years, so I feel completely confident and great about it.”
Mr. Jehn also worked as a science teacher for 12 years. He’s worked with many students throughout his career, and he hopes to continue to help as many as possible. “We’ve got great teachers here and great staff. So I’m excited to work even more closely with them and really just continue to make this a special place to work for staff and a special place to come each day for students,” says Jehn.
Mr. Jehn will take over the high school principal position at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
