Senior Sunrise is a tradition that has been going on for years now led by the seniors themselves. The class president(s) for the class of 2026 came together and figure out where the sunrise gathering will be at and what time it would be at. Any senior who can wake up early is welcome to participate. “We are finally able to spend time together,” Senior Autumn Loging says, “appreciating how far we’ve come and celebrating the start of our last year”
This year’s Senior Sunrise took place on the first day of school before the start of the school day. Seniors arrived at Lake Neshonoc by the shelter around 6 A.M. to catch the first light of sun on their last “first day” of school. Around twenty to thirty students were up early enough to participate. “Even though waking up early was tough and pulling myself out of bed wasn’t easy,” Senior Morgan Boutin says, “memories made that morning were worth every bit of it.”
The class of 2027 can decide if this is a tradition they will carry on for their class. “I would recommend it because you only live once and high school is only four short years,” Senior Jaidyn Holmberg says, “so make the most of it.”
