Top 10 Activities to do in a Boring Midwest Town

Top+10+Activities+to+do+in+a+Boring+Midwest+Town

Although small towns in the Midwest may seem boring, there are many enjoyable activities to take part in. There may only be a limited amount, but they can be exciting! These activities cover essential parts of the Midwest, from fast food places to driving around with friends to enjoying views. Most people would consider these things boring, but there isn’t much to do, so here are the top ten things you should do in a boring Midwest town.

  1. The bowling alley

If you’re in luck, your boring midwest town or the town next to you may have a bowling alley. If you and your friends and family need to kill a few hours, then look no further than the bowling alley. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy a game of bowling. You can also enjoy delicious food like cheese curds, hamburgers, pizza, etc. Stop by and get some food, bowl a bit with your friends, and enjoy the moment!

  1. Go to the movies

Another enjoyable thing is going to see a movie. Almost all small towns have a movie theater surrounding them, however they are different from most theaters. They have a more cozy atmosphere and a classic vintage style. Take your friends with you or go alone. Both choices are fun.

  1. Go to the local park

Going outside is one of the most refreshing and healing activities to do. In small-town parks, you don’t have to worry about garbage and homeless people because they are well-maintained. You can go down the slide, or touch some grass. We all know you stay inside, play too many video games, and watch TikTok all day.

  1. Kwik Trip

Ahh Kwik Trip. When someone says, “What are we doing today?” Most people’s response is why don’t we go to Kwik Trip. Kwik Trip is a place for shenanigans, and you can go there any time of day because it is open 24/7. 3 am Kwik Trip run? Stop by and get some gas or some food. The glazers donuts are to die for.

  1. Look at the cows and the farmland

Personally, one of my favorite things to do is drive through the countryside. The midwest is full of large farm fields, so it is not uncommon to see cattle while driving in the scenic countryside. It is refreshing to see the farms that provide food. Plus the cows are cute and it is my favorite part of the drive.

  1. Wally-World

Mmmm, Walmart. The place where kids get lost every five minutes and the toy aisle is always a mess. Getting lost and crying in a random aisle is a core memory in most children’s memories. The distinct smell would be very identifiable if you got dragged into one of their stores while being blindfolded. In the end, Walmart has everything you need which is a definitive reason to go

  1. MacDons

Mcdonald’s. The go-to fast food place for every individual’s needs. The fries are to die for, but if you like to dip them into ice cream, better find another restaurant. The ice cream machine is always broken down, but there are many good milkshakes. Additionally, it is one of three total fast-food restaurants in the entire town.

  1. A Lookout

After you have gotten your McDonald’s, the best place to eat it is a lookout. The one by the Onalaska Kwik Trip is the best. Especially if you get your food at five or six when the sun is going down. A cute little sunset moment to take pictures, and create memories like the senior sunrise.

  1. The Mall

Down to the top two, exciting. Every Midwest town has a sad, dying mall. They always have the best pretzels and every once in a while they have a fun event. It is also a good place to walk around with your friends and stop by all of the fun and unique stores.

  1. Drive around a wealthy neighborhood

We have finally reached number one. The most exhilarating thing about small Midwestern towns is that they have beautiful scenery. The best way to see that is to drive to the wealthy neighborhoods. If you’re wealthy of course you are going to buy land where the view is stunning. It is fun to see the castle-like homes that seem out of place in small towns. It also fuels everyone’s dream of wanting to be rich.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have found some new inspiration for where to go in small Midwest towns.
