West Salem – November 8th – Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks and student-created content, today announced that West Salem’s school yearbook has achieved the Jostens 2023 National Yearbook Award Program of Excellence award at a Gold Level. The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation  of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, and information communication technologies (ICT) literacy. 

The West Salem High School award-winning 2023 Yearbook program is led by Emma Clements, Leah Beyer, and Lizzy Stavlo under the direction of Andrea Armstrong, West Salem High School yearbook advisor. 

“We have been working toward this goal this year,” said Neshonoc Advisor Andrea Armstrong. “I’m proud of the staff to have worked consistently to get the gold!” 

Jostens 2023 National Yearbook Award Program of Excellence Awards are presented twice a year, in spring and fall, based on the yearbook’s arrival date at the school. The award was presented to the West Salem High School yearbook program for achieving defined criteria in between one of the three following categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.
